Thomas Walters was born on 30 January 1976. He got a degree in political science from the University of Stellenbosch. He also finished a program in management at Wits Business School. Later, he earned a Masters of Business Administration from the Gordon Institute of Business Science and the University of Pretoria’s Business School.

Career

Thomas Walters started his political journey as a leader in the Democratic Party while in college. He later became the Federal Youth Chairperson for the Democratic Alliance (DA) and served as a counselor in the Johannesburg City Council.

In 2009, he was elected to the Gauteng Provincial Legislature and became known for his work on agriculture and rural development. Walters then moved to higher positions within the DA, becoming the Provincial Chairperson for a while. He also became the Deputy Chairperson of the DA Federal Council in 2012.
