Early Life and Education

Joe Pesci was born on 9th February 1943 in Newark, New Jersey. His father, Angelo Pesci, was a truck driver and his mother, Maria, was a part-time barber. Pesci spend his childhood in Belleville, New Jersey. He also completed his high school education from there. He began appearing in New York TV series at age five. He made an appearance on Startime Kids when he was ten years old.

Career

Joe Pesci made his film debut in “The Death Collector” in 1976. After that he was casted in film “Raging Bull,” in 1980. When he was shooting the film, he got seriously injured and broke one of his ribs, but he still performed brilliantly and was also nominated for an Oscar. He then won a BAFTA Award for the performance. Next he was appeared in “Dear Mr. Wonderful” in 1982, “Easy Money” and “Eureka” in 1983, and “Raging Bull”. In 1984, he collaborated with De Niro again on “Once Upon a Time in America.” Joe portrayed the title character in the comedy-drama “Half Nelson,” a private investigator, on television in 1985. 1987 Pesci appeared in the “Smooth Criminal” portion of Michael Jackson’s “Moonwalker,” playing a mob boss.
