Personal Life
Ryan Kaji’s parents, Shion and Loann, met during their undergraduate studies at Texas Tech University. Shion, the son of a microchip executive, moved to the United States from Japan during high school. Loann’s family sought refuge from Vietnam, and she grew up in Houston aspiring to become a teacher, eventually fulfilling that dream. Shion pursued a master’s in engineering at Cornell University but returned to Texas after the birth of Ryan, completing his degree online.

Additionally, concerns were raised about the promotion of unhealthy foods in these advertisements. Consequently, this complaint led to the FTC suing YouTube and Google for $170 million. This legal action prompted YouTube to implement new regulations concerning children’s content to comply with the Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act.
